Austin PBS
6101 Highland Campus Dr Building 3000, Austin, TX 78752
Join us at the new headquarters of Austin PBS, where Founder of Texas Monthly Mike Levy and Founder of The Texas Tribune Evan Smith will share their insights with our alumni community, as two legendary entrepreneurs who revolutionized Texas print and digital media from here in Austin.
Hear the story of how Texas Monthly started with four typewriters in 1973 and grew under the leadership of Mike and Evan to become the National Magazine of Texas, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with more than 2.5 million readers each month.
Experience the new HQ of Austin PBS, the Austin Media Center, as the largest 12G facility in the United States. Inside Studio A, CEO of Austin PBS Luis Patiño will welcome us as audience members, and Mike and Evan will share their stories through both an informal chat and interactive Q&A.
Mingle over bites and sips made in Austin during networking time at the event, featuring wine, beer, and snacks from some of our favorite local businesses: The Austin Winery, Vacancy Brewing, Austin Gourmet Popcorn, and Antonelli’s Cheese.
To commemorate the evening, each attendee will receive an issue of Texas Monthly magazine to take home as a gift.
